Welcome to the Williamson County Sheriffs
Posse website. Located in the beautiful
and centrally located San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, Texas.
Established in 1943, the WCSP has a great service history, but needs your
enduring support to continue into the future.
As a non-profit organization we strive to be an integral part of the community
and provide activities and services related to our deep western heritage.
Each year the WCSP produces the annual Georgetown
Rodeo. Don’t
forget to take a look at our calendar for weekly
events (Barrel Racing and Bull Riding) and awesome annual events (Up the Chisholm
Trail Cattle Drive & Ranch Rodeo, 4th of July fireworks, etc).
Membership
into the WCSP is open to all citizens, 18 years and older, who live in Williamson
or adjacent counties and who do not have a criminal record.
Become a friend of the Rodeo and receive monthly emails and newsletters! Active members attend monthly meetings
and help in the planning and development of events.
Active members also receive privileges such as riding in the arena through
out the year.
For as little as $10 a year you can help
keep the WCSP alive and more families the opportunity to enjoy western heritage!
Looking for the next step to advance your
level of horsemanship? Join the WCSP Drill Team, a precision mounted drill team that
performs at local rodeos and parades.
The team practices weekly and offers fun filled, fellowship with other horse enthusiasts
in Central Texas.

photographer or film professional looking for a location for your next film/event? Our arena is centrally located in Texas
right off of IH 35. Surrounded by live
oaks and the San Gabriel River, the fully operable rodeo arena is the perfect place! With a 3000 person seating capacity,
r.v. hook-ups, livestock pens and two concession stands, our facility is a great
value at a low cost.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Posse - A History
of Service
In July of 1943, during the dark
days of World War II, the Williamson County Sheriff's Posse was chartered at
the direction of Sheriff Bob Davis to assist Deputy Sheriffs and City Marshals
during wartime blackouts and as a quick means to mobilize manpower needed for
emergencies and/or natural disasters.
Since that time the posse has
assisted in suppressing jail breaks, intensive searches for missing persons and
children, fugitive manhunts and aid during natural disasters demonstrating its
unique abilities and readiness, no matter what the need nor whenever it may
arise.
In addition to assisting law
enforcement, the Posse has always aimed to provide a healthy family equestrian
environment and to promote and enjoy the traditional Texas Cowboy values, code
and way of life. The Posse's money-raising activities provide funds for civic
organizations, youth groups and the means to maintain a facility where families
can gather to enjoy participating in horse-related events.
